Military and Government Affairs

The Southeastern Chamber of Commerce Government and Military Affairs Division is responsible for advocating on behalf of the business community with state and local government entities to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can thrive. Government and Military Affairs utilizes the legal, political and economic powers of the state Legislature, the City Council and the County Board of Supervisors to create a climate in which both business and the community can flourish. Recruitment and promotion of business-friendly leaders to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can succeed and create jobs is another principal objective of the Southeastern Chamber. Important issues that affect businesses in which the Government and Military Affairs Division takes an active role include taxation, regulatory assistance, the environment, land use codes, water, transportation and more.

Strategic Objective:

  • Utilize the legal, political and economic powers of the State Legislature, the City Council, and the County Board of Supervisors to create a climate in which both business and the community can flourish.
  • Recruit and promote business-friendly leaders to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can succeed and create jobs.
